Thanksgiving Update

So here is our Thanksgiving update. Andrew surprised me with an early Christmas gift, a much needed digital camera! This means that I have photos that aren't taken by a cell phone! yippee! I was very excited to get my gift and I used it during our Thanksgiving celebration to great affect. The first picture is obviously a family photo. We rarely actually have these taken because usually one of us is doing the picture taking, (me actually). My mother-in-law, Carol, snapped this one of us. Our Thanksgiving celebration consisted of a fairly small party of people. There was me, Andrew, Michael, my sister Sara, Carol, Bill and a nice lady from their mission branch, Joyce. Now, just as a heads up there are no pictures of Sara, Bill, or Joyce in here. Unfortunately I got something on the lens of my camera and in the pictures of Bill he has a big splotch in the middle of his face. Sara hates having her picture taken so she snuck off downstairs to watch TV when the cameras came out. Joyce somehow managed to evade the picture taking, which really isn't that hard to do when Michael is in the room. All camera's seem to focus magically on him. Lol!

This is a picture of Michael and Andrew chillin on the sofa chair. Daddy was making a goofy face while Michael was laughing at me! :) My two favorite guys sitting together, soooo sweet!

I made Carol do a goofy pose, she didn't even suspect I would post it on my blog. Poor her :D I am such a snot! Ah well, I thought it was fun, she was the queen of the Turkey cooking. We all adored her food, and she makes amazing stuffing!

This is a picture of my pumpkin pie. It is made from scratch... completely. I cooked down a pumpkin and made it into a pie on Thanksgiving. Although, Carol made the crust because she is also the queen of pie crusts! hehe :) It was a delicious pie!

Here is a picture of Michael eating dinner, I think he was evaluating the food? Maybe making us wait in suspense for his critique of our cooking.

I guess he must have enjoyed it since he is smiling pretty big here!

Michael loves his Rocking Eeyore that grammie got him when he was little. It is amazing to look at the picture of him as a new born on it! He is so big now. It is only recently that he has really gotten into Eeyore. He seems to enjoy rocking more and more, especially since he can rock himself. He usually goes up to Grammie (Carol) makes the more sign language sign and says. "Please do this" which translated means- "please lift me onto Eeyore RIGHT NOW so I can rock back and forth insanely fast! If you don't I will get downright cranky!"

Here he is after he got his way and is enjoying a quick rock or two on Eeyore.

Michael is on top of the toy chest in this picture. He likes to throw toys down behind it and then looks at them because he can't quite reach them yet.

He usually manages to get one of us (Grammie this time) to look down there and grab the toys he wants back.

Grammie and Michael playing pat-a-cake. Michael likes to skip ahead to the throw it in the oven part!

Michael is also obsessed with their big Grandfather Clock. He likes to watch it and he will even make a tocking noise with his mouth if he thinks it isnt working right, or he wants it to be wound up again.

Here is a picture of Michael running away from Andrew and towards Grammie. He sure does have a lot of energy.

Uh-oh! He is looking for his.....

BELLY BUTTON!!!
Lately Michael has been very interested in finding his belly button. He will randomly lift up his shirt and stick his finger in his belly button, I think he may be checking to see if it is still there.

Michael likes to play a very fun game with Grammie and Daddy. I this picture he is playing with Grammie. He runs towards her as fast as he can and then tackles her with a hug, "knocking" her over onto her back. He then holds on til she pops back up so that he can run away and do it again. He will play this game for what seems like forever!

Along with his rocking on Eeyore comes the inevitable discussion about how big Eeyore's nose is. Michael loves to find people's noses. He likes to touch Eeyores ginormous nose and then touch his own (maybe he is making sure his hasn't grown)!

Michael running to Grammie yet again trying to knock her over!

We are already preparing him to take part in family holiday events, such as the scrabble game. He is looking at the Scrabble Dictionary.

I guess he decided to start early, hopefully he doesn't beat us by the time he is 6!

This last picture is one of my favorites, it looks like Grammie and Michael are sharing secrets :) The kind that lead Michael to "attack" some poor unsuspecting parent with hugs and giggles!
We had an awesome Thanksgiving. I hope that all of our friends and family had excellent Thanksgivings as well. I know that it was definitely an experience for us. I do believe we may end up going out to a restaurant next year. Of course by then we may just be crazy enough to try cooking a ton of food... again. We had a 25lb turkey because we thought more people were coming, but plans changed at the last minute. Ah well, that is how life goes. I guess we will learn from our mistakes and keep growing. I know that we will always enjoy our holidays when we are surrounded by loved ones.
I will try to post again soon. After all I promised a picture of Michael in his Halloween costume and it has yet to appear on here. It should be up soon, I have to transfer it onto the computer. However, since it is almost 2am I am off to bed. Love you all, have a great night and a Happy Holiday Season.
